Alis Drumgo joined Capital City Consulting after spending twenty years in public service. Most recently, Alis served as the City of Tampa’s Deputy Administrator for Development and Economic Opportunity where he was responsible for City Planning, Community Redevelopment, Convention Center and Tourism Services, Economic Development, Real Estate and Housing & Community Development. In this role, he worked on housing policy, rebuilding the community redevelopment department, negotiating public private partnerships with interested developers, leading real estate acquisition & disposition strategy, and project management of key initiatives. He established the City’s first Small Business Navigator and authored a proposal to expand and highlight Tampa’s industrial business opportunities.
Alis has spent the last decade working throughout Tampa Bay and across Central Florida having secured a combined $100 million dollars in public funding for GasWorx, The David A. Straz Center for Performing Arts, Tampa Museum of Arts, Tampa Theatre and Tampa Aquarium. In addition, Alis made a significant impact during his time with the City of Lakeland contributing to Mirrorton, the Joinery, Midtown Lofts, Parker Pointe, Lincoln Square, and arts-centric commercial redevelopment along the Dixieland Corridor. Alis is a considered a great advisor and leader in the local government realm.
Alis is an alumnus of Teach for America, and an active mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay and Polk County’s Men of Tomorrow. He holds a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning and Public Policy from Rutgers University and is a certified Florida Redevelopment Association Administrator. He is a champion of veteran’s causes, and educational and economic empowerment. Alis is Central Florida focused and lives in Polk County with his wife Deena and their six daughters.
