Tom DeRita is a Partner at Capital City Consulting. He is a government affairs and business strategist with more than 50 years of experience advising corporations, nonprofits, governmental entities, and community organizations throughout Florida.
He is the founder and CEO of Resource Group of North America, which he built into one of Florida’s leading government relations and business consulting firms.
For more than four decades, Tom has been active in politics and public affairs, serving in roles supporting leaders including former Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, former Governor Jeb Bush, and former Florida CFO Jeff Atwater.
Tom is also deeply involved in community and philanthropic initiatives. In 1992, he founded the Big Heart Brigade, an organization focused on providing meals and support to underserved families during the holidays. He has served on numerous community and nonprofit boards, including the Martin Memorial Health System Foundation, YMCA of the Treasure Coast, the Economic Council of Martin County, and the Adam Walsh Foundation. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Advisors for Keiser University’s flagship campus.
Tom holds a business degree from University of Rhode Island and received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Northwood University.
