Florida Republicans have registered more than 1 million voters than Democrats, cementing Florida's reputation as a conservative hotbed, and giving Trump the state's 29 electoral votes by a 56% to 42% margin.

Former Florida Governor and current U.S. Sen. Rick Scott (R) won over 55% of the vote, defeating Congresswoman Mucarsel-Powell (D) to retain his seat and start his second six-year term.

Of the 28 seats that Florida has, only one was an open race due to the retirement of Congressman Posey. Former Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos (R) easily  clinched it, securing over 62% of the vote. 

 
 

Florida Senate

In District 1, (Santa Rosa/Escambia) Don Gaetz (R) defeated Lisa Newell (D). Senator Gaetz served in the Florida State Senate from 2012 to 2016 and served as Senate President from 2012-2014. He focused on education reform and fiscal responsibility during his tenure.

In District 3, (Tallahassee/Quincy) Incumbent Senator Corey Simon (R) defeated Daryl Parks (D) maintaining this historically Democratic district as a Republican seat. Senator Simon first took office as a state Senator in 2022, and Democrats spent millions to try to take the seat back. Simon won with almost 56% of the vote. He is the former CEO of Volunteer Florida and a well-known former Florida State football player. 

In District 7, (St. Johns, Putnam, Flager) Representative Tom Leek (R) beat challenger George Anthony Hill II (D). Now-Senator Leek has served in the Florida House of Representatives since 2016. He is well known for his focus on insurance reform and served as the Appropriations Chairman for the Florida House of Representatives from 2022-2024. 

In District 13, (Lake) Representative Keith Truenow (R) defeated challenger Stephanie Dukes (D). Representative Truenow previously served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the District 31. Truenow has focused on issues such as economic development, education, and public safety during his legislative career. Prior to his political service, he was involved in the business sector and has a background in real estate.

In District 19, (Brevard) Representative Randy Fine (R) defeated Vance Ahrens (D). Representative Fine has served in the Florida House of Representatives since 2016. During his legislative term Fine focused on issues such as economic development, education, and public safety. He is known for his outspoken advocacy on various legislative matters and has been active in local community initiatives. Prior to his political career, Fine worked in the business sector, and has experience in the technology and telecommunications industries. 

In District 25, (Osceola) Representative Kristen Arrington (D) defeated Jose Martinez (R). Representative Arrington has served in the Florida House of Representatives since 2020 representing District 46 for two terms. Arrington campaigned on promises to keep Florida students safe, address the affordable housing crisis, keep insurance costs down, protect Florida’s water supply, and expand healthcare.

In District 35, (Broward) Barbara Sharief (D) defeated Vincent Parlatore (R). Barbara Sharief previously served as Vice Mayor of Miramar, where she focused on initiatives that promote economic development, education, and healthcare access. Barbara owns a family practice where she practices as an advanced registered nurse practitioner. She also served as the founder and CEO of an Adult and Pediatric Home Care facility for 20 years. 

 

Florida House

In District 27, (Marion, Volusia, Lake) Richard Gentry (R) defeated Andy Ferrari (D). Gentry is an attorney with expertise in housing and growth-related legislation, including Florida’s landmark Growth Management Act and the Sadowski Act, which aims to enhance housing affordability for nurses, teachers, first responders, and hardworking families.

In District 32, (Brevard) Senator Debbie Mayfield (R) defeated Juan Hinojose (D). Senator Mayfield has served in the Florida Senate since 2016. Prior to her service in the Senate she served in the Florida House of Representatives. Her legislative service included being Chair of the Senate Rules Committee, serving as the Majority Whip, and serving as the Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Environment, and General Government

In District 35, (Osceola) Erika Booth (R) defeated incumbent Represenative Tom Keen (D). Erika Booth is a schoolteacher by profession. She is involved with organizations such as the Florida Farm Bureau, Bookmark Buddies Mentor Program, Silver Spurs Riding Club, and the PEO Philanthropic Organization.

In District 37, (Seminole) incumbent Representative Susan Plasencia (R) has narrowly beat challenger Nate Douglas (D). Representative Plasencia has served in the Florida House since 2022. During her time in the legislature, she served as Vice Chair for the Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee. 

In District 38, (Winter Springs), incumbent Representative David Smith (R) once again defeated challenger Sarah Henry (D) in this district that comes down to performance of Indpendent/NPA voters.  

In District45 (Orlando), Leonard Spencer (D) is in the lead to defeat incumbent Carolina Amesty (R) in this very purple seat, that went for Biden in 2020. The race is heading towards a recount with just a few tenths of a percentage point separating the candidates.  

In District 47, (Kissimmee), incumbent Representative Paula Stark (R) defeated challenger Maria Revelles (D) to retain her seat in a district that has nearly as many NPA voters as registered Democratic voters. 

In District 60, (Pinellas) incumbent Representative Lindsay Cross (D) defeated challenger Ed Montanari (R).Representative Cross is an environmental scientist who has served in the Florida House since 2022. Her professional career includes leadership roles in the private sector, government and non-profit sectors, focusing on water quality and environmental health.

In District 65, (Hillsborough) incumbent Representative Karen Gonzalez Pitman (R) defeated Ashley Brundage (D). Representative Gonzalez Pitman has served in the Florida House since 2022. Representative Gonzalez Pitman is Vice President of Public Affairs for Vein911 Vein Treatment Center where her husband, Dr. Christopher Pittman, serves as Medical Director and CEO. She also serves as Vice President of Public Affairs for Health Performance Specialists, a managed services organization that is the largest network of vein care practices in the USA.

In District 91, (Palm Beach) incumbent Representative Peggy Gossett-Seidman (R) defeated challenger Jay Shooster (D). Representative Gossett-Seidman has served in the Florida House since 2022. She is a sportswriter and media/public relations director, recognized as the first female sportswriter in both the Big Ten and the Palm Beach Post, where she covered tennis, auto racing, baseball, and football.

In District 93 (Palm Beach) incumbent Representative Katherine Waldron (D) appears to have lost to Anne Gerwig (R), the popular past mayor of Wellington. However, the margin between Waldron and Gerwig remains tight and within recount range. 

In District 106, (Miami Beach) incumbent Fabian Basabe (R) defeated Joe Saunders (D). Joe Saunders (D) previously served in the Florida House from 2012-2014, but was not able to make a comeback given Miami-Dade's strong Republican turnout. 

In District 113, (Miami-Dade) incumbent Representative Vikki Lopez (R) defeated Jackie Gross-Kellogg (D). Representative Lopez has served in the Florida House of Representatives since 2022. During her time in the legislature, Representative Lopez has focused on key issues, including condominium reform legislation in response to the concerns raised by the collapse of the Champlain Towers South in Surfside and addressed housing reform. 

 

 
 

Florida Constitution

*amendments require 60% for passage

Amendment 1: Partisan Election of School Board Members – Failed  This amendment proposed that school board elections become partisan, starting in the 2026 election cycle. 

Amendment 2: Right to Hunt and Fish – Passed This amendment enshrines the right to hunt and fish in the state constitution. 

Amendment 3: Legalization of Adult Personal Use of Marijuana – Failed  This proposal would have legalized recreational marijuana for adults aged 21 and older. 

Amendment 4: Abortion Rights Before Viability –Failed  This amendment would have established a constitutional right to abortion. 

Amendment 5: Inflation Adjustment for Homestead Property Tax Exemption – Passed This amendment adjusts homestead property tax exemptions annually based on inflation. 

Amendment 6: Repeal of Public Campaign Financing Requirement –Failed  This amendment sought to eliminate public funding for state campaigns, arguing that it would save taxpayer money.
