- Preserving Public School Resources
On behalf of our school district clients, CCC successfully opposed legislation that would have undermined Florida’s K–12 funding formula by allowing wealthy communities to retain local tax revenue generated in their communities rather than distributing it equitably throughout the school district to serve all county students. If this initiative were successful, local tax dollars previously collected to serve all county students would have been retained by the wealthy enclave where the tax dollars were generated to the detriment of every other school in the district.
- Career Readiness Access Expansion
CCC passed legislation to reopen the Florida middle school marketplace for introductory industry certifications called CAPE Digital Tools after the legislature eliminated them in 2024. CAPE Digital Tools teach younger students to use everyday software tools like Adobe and Microsoft. By passing legislation to reinstate the middle school program, students are again able to earn certifications and generate revenue for schools to sustain the courses under the Florida Education Finance Program.
