Based in Miami, Rodney has advised corporate clients and worked closely with state, county, and municipal governments to advance large-scale initiatives and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Rodney is a member of the Florida Council of 100 and serves on the boards of NextPlat, Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, and Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation. He has chaired the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee three times (2007, 2010, and 2020 at Hard Rock Stadium), helping raise more than $100 million in support of the games. He has also twice chaired the United States Conference of Mayors when hosted in Miami and led major events including the Breeders’ Cup Championship and the Sister Cities International Convention.

Rodney has served for more than 13 years on the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, including as Chairman, following appointments by three governors. He also previously served as Chairman of the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida and has been consistently recognized among the most influential leaders in Miami for over two decades.

In recognition of his conservation leadership, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission established the “Rodney Barreto Conservation Award” in 2011 and presented him with its inaugural honor. That same year, he received the Flats Stewardship Award from the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust. He has also been recognized by the Coastal Conservation Association of Florida and the Yamaha Contender Miami Billfish Tournament, and for his contributions to establishing a Research Natural Area in Dry Tortugas National Park.

When he is not consulting with clients or working on conservation efforts, Rodney invests in Miami’s food, beverage, and hospitality scene. Barreto Hospitality has opened or reopened a number of signature South Florida venues spanning iconic Coral Gables to the Las Olas Riverfront.

Rodney also devotes time to community and civic endeavors, including the Ronald McDonald House, Baptist Health South Florida, and the Florida Highway Patrol Advisory Council.
