Alis Drumgo is a government affairs and economic development strategist at Capital City Consulting, with more than 20 years of public service experience.
Most recently, he served as Deputy Administrator for Development and Economic Opportunity for the City of Tampa, where he oversaw City Planning, Community Redevelopment, Economic Development, Real Estate, Housing and Community Development, and Convention Center and Tourism operations. In this role, he led housing policy initiatives, rebuilt the city’s community redevelopment program, negotiated public-private partnerships, and directed real estate acquisition and disposition strategy. He also established the City’s first Small Business Navigator program and advanced initiatives to expand industrial development opportunities.
Alis has secured more than $100 million in public funding for major projects across Tampa Bay and Central Florida, including GasWorx, the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, the Tampa Museum of Art, the Tampa Theatre, and the Florida Aquarium. He also contributed to key redevelopment efforts in Lakeland, including Mirrorton, The Joinery, Midtown Lofts, Parker Pointe, Lincoln Square, and projects along the Dixieland Corridor.
Earlier in his career, Alis served with Teach For America and remains active in community and mentorship initiatives, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Men of Tomorrow in Polk County. He is a champion of veteran’s causes, and educational and economic empowerment.
He holds a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning and Public Policy from Rutgers University and is a certified Florida Redevelopment Association Administrator.
